UWEBC – Fundamentals of Machine Learning: A Hands-on Workshop

April 9, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) have captivated the world and promise a future of endless possibilities. ML and AI are enabling and driving solutions like enhanced customer experience, customer personalization, upsell and cross-channel marketing, recommendation engines, more accurate supply chain forecasts, and even understanding user intent and behavior to improve functionality and security.

It is clear that ML will play a critical role in the future success of every organization, meaning developing the talent base and skill sets necessary to build and deploy ML capabilities across the enterprise is imperative.

This hands-on workshop has been specially designed to provide attendees with the foundational knowledge and experience needed to envision and create future ML-enabled solutions. Attendees will focus on artificial neural network (ANN) models, a highly effective approach to ML.

Using a real-world sales data set, participants will learn both the theory and practice of creating and implementing an ANN. Each participant will receive hands-on instruction on popular open-source tools to build a working neural network, train it, use it to make predictions and then leave with the example.
